Manitowoc, Wis. – May 22, 2010 – Manitowoc undercounter ice machines offer simplified installation, improved sanitation, convenient access to ice, and a new model – the Q 170.
Compact Q-Series ice machines are ideal for small-volume ice production, for limited use needs, or as a back-up for larger machines. They are specifically designed to fit beneath counters or in areas where floor space or height restrictions prohibit the use of larger equipment. Their smaller size makes these models ideal for on-the-spot installations at coffee shops, stadium boxes, refreshment break areas, or wherever limited ice needs require equipment with a small footprint. Installation in tight spaces is easy with the new right angle electric plug; which requires minimal space between the back wall and the unit.
Cleaning and sanitation have been simplified. The on/off/clean switch is easier to access and is more visible with improved graphics. Alpha San has been molded into key internal components resulting in a longer time between cleanings and a shorter, more efficient cleaning routine.
The Q-Series models feature an EZ slide door, enhancing user experience and improving product reliability. The door has also been angled to provide a larger opening; making ice more visible and easier to scoop.
Concealed ice machine components and a new gray interior updates the look giving a more coordinated appearance. Undercounter ice machines offer cube with daily ice production levels from 130 lbs of ice to 340 lbs. Ice storage capacity from 80lbs to 150 lbs. Available undercounter models include: QM 30, QM 45, Q130, Q210, and Q270.
The new energy-efficient Q 170 rounds out the assortment providing options for all undercounter ice production needs. This new model will be Tier 2 ENERGY STAR and will produce 130 lbs at 90/70º F. Dimensions are 38.5” high and 26” wide by 26.5” deep.
Manitowoc ice machines are able to achieve the highest levels of energy and water conservation. Over 97% of Manitowoc’s cube ice machines meet or exceed stringent energy performance standards such as those established by CEE or ENERGY STAR®. Manitowoc Ice is an ENERGY STAR partner.
