Over 175 Manitowoc ice machines meet CEC standards
February 12th, 2008
MANITOWOC, WI – February 12, 2008 – Dozens of energy efficient Manitowoc ice machines have been added to the CEC’s (California Energy Commission) list of certified commercial-grade ice machines, bringing the latest numbers to over 175 models; currently the largest number from any ice machine manufacturer.
CEC certification signifies that the customer is purchasing foodservice equipment that meets or exceeds the current efficiency standards of the California Energy Commission. Energy efficiency, water consumption, and ice harvest rates are taken into consideration during the certification process. Over 97% of Manitowoc's cube ice machines meet or exceed stringent energy performance standards such as those established by CEE or ENERGY STAR.
“For decades, Manitowoc Ice has been quietly providing environmentally friendly foodservice equipment solutions; not because it was mandated, but because it represents good business practices – for us, as well as our customers,” comments John Sara, senior product manager.
Manitowoc ice machines that meet CEC certification range from undercounter units delivering 30 pounds of ice daily up to high-volume ice machines delivering 1,800 of ice daily. To view the most recent list of CEC certified ice machines visit: http://www.EnergyMizer.com.
