New tier 3 energy efficient ice machines are right around the corner - with Manitowoc leading the way

MANITOWOC, WI – June 27, 2007 – Manitowoc Ice, Inc., the leading manufacturer of ice machines for the commercial and noncommercial foodservice industry, introduces the new S-Series 1470C aircooled remote ice machine.
With Manitowoc’s innovative QuietQube® technology, the 1470C is 75% quieter than standard remotes due to the compressor and the condenser fan motor being housed in a remote condensing unit located away from the ice machine head section. The new S-Series 1470C is one of the first ice machines to meet the stringent Tier 3 energy efficiency specifications of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE).
Popular features of the traditional S-Series ice machine line have been integrated into the S1470C. Innovation – The QuietQube system features Manitowoc’s exclusive CVD (Cool Vapor Defrost) patented technology. Reliability - the patented CVD technology improves reliability and extends the life of the compressor. Ease of Sanitation – to minimize the frequency of cleaning, AlphaSan® has been molded into select plastic components to reduce biofilm, often called slime. Reduction of Noise – the quiet operation eliminates most noise from the refrigeration system, promoting a relaxed atmosphere. Other features of the 1470C include; heat reduction, reduced air conditioning load, improved efficiency, and increased ice production. The 1470C model is 30” wide by 25” high with daily ice production of up to 1,400 lbs. In addition to the new S1470C, Manitowoc has the following QuietQube remote air-cooled ice machine models available: S600C, S850C, S1000C, and the S1200C.
