Manitowoc Foodservice Group Makes It Easy to be "Green!"

Manitowoc's QuietQube technology makes its ice machines 75% quieter, and are one of the first to meet CEE Tier 3 specifications.

Long before energy consumption and environmental conservation became "hot topics," Manitowoc Ice has been quietly providing energy- efficient and environmentally friendly foodservice equipment solutions; not because it was mandated, but because it represented good business practices for us, as well as our customers. Now, decades later as the leading ice machine manufacturer in the United States, we continue to reinvent ourselves with even higher levels of achievement.

"Manitowoc ice machines have always been known for their low operating costs."

The 2003 introduction of the Manitowoc Ice S-series ice machines put us on the cutting edge of energy efficiency and conservation in commercial ice machines. With an average 25% increase in efficiency over competitive models, we set a new benchmark for others to follow.

In 2007, new Tier 3 energy-efficient ice machines have become available. Leading the way are the new Manitowoc S-Series 1470C and 1870C. With Manitowoc's innovative QuietQube technology, these ice machines are 75% quieter than standard remotes due to the compressor and the condenser fan motor being housed in a remote condensing unit located away from Manitowoc's QuietQube technology makes Its Ice machines the first to meet CEE Tier 3 specifications. 75% quieter, and are one of the ice-machine head section. This technology makes it the ideal ice machine for high-volume food and beverage areas. These ice machines are one of the first to meet the stringent Tier 3 energy efficiency specifications of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE).

Manitowoc ice machines are now eligible for the Energy Star.

In January 2008, the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star program announced that ice machines that meet maximum potable water and energy consumption limits are eligible for Energy Star recognition in the commercial kitchen equipment category. Manitowoc ice machines that have earned the Energy Star are up to 15% more energy- and water-efficient than standard models.

"Manitowoc ice machines have always been known for their low operating costs. Now, with ice machines being included in the Energy Star program, it will be even easier for customers to quickly identify the most energy-efficient models," says John Sara, senior product manager for Manitowoc Ice.

At Manitowoc Ice we have always been committed to finding new ways to build energy efficiency and dependability into all of our products. Now, you don't have to settle for one or the other. To view the most recent list of qualified ice machines visit: www.manitowocice.com/energystar.

By May 2008, more than 97% of Manitowoc's cube ice machines will meet or exceed stringent, California Energy Commission (CEC) and CEE performance criteria, while more than 35 ice machine models will bear the coveted Energy Star mark.
