AHRI presents Daryl Erbs of Manitowoc Foodservice with prestigious Richard C. Schulze Award

New Port Richey, Fla. – AHRI, the Air-conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute selected Daryl Erbs, director of advanced engineering for Manitowoc Foodservice, as the 2009 recipient of the Richard C. Schulze Award. This prestigious award is given in recognition of distinguished service and commitment to AHRI and the industry’s goals and objectives.  Award recipients are selected by their industry colleagues.
 
Erbs is being honored for his many years of dedicated service and expertise on behalf of the industry, particularly for his active participation as a member of the Commercial Refrigerator Manufacturers Section and the Research and Technology Committee. In addition, Erbs was essential to the development of AHRI Standard 1250 for performance of walk-in coolers and freezers which now serves as the basis for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) federal test procedures for those products. 
 
Stephen Yurek, president of AHRI praised Erbs for his “strong and selfless support of our industry,” and for being “an inspiration to your colleagues who have benefited immeasurably from your contributions.”
 
The award was presented by AHRI’s chairman, Keith Coursin, on November 16th, 2009.
